The quality of a woman’s germ cells — oocytes (ovules) —– largely influences on the possibility of pregnancy and successful bearing of pregnancy. For different reasons, the quality of oocytes may be poor, and there are no ways to restore it today. However, overcoming this problem is possible, thanks to the IVF program with oocyte donors. The oocyte donation program is one of the most successful methods of treating female infertility. Thanks to this program, thousands of healthy babies have already been born.
The Association of Surrogate Moms and Egg Donors in Sochi helps to find healthy female donors who are interested in voluntarily provide their germ cells to those who need to use them to treat infertility.
— Who needs a donor
The IVF program with donor oocytes is performed for medical reasons when a woman can't get her own oocytes of good quality.
- — absence of ovaries;
- — early depletion of the follicular apparatus;
- — diminished ovarian reserve;
- — natural menopause;
- — the presence of inheritable genetic diseases that can be transmitted;
- — unsuccessful IVF attempts with their oocytes in obtaining embryos of poor quality.
In these cases, the reproductologist may recommend an IVF program using the germ cells of a female donor to obtain good quality embryos, the onset of pregnancy, and successful gestation.
— Oocyte donation program
The program starts when ASMED clients choose a suitable donor from our exclusive database of the Association. A female donor is going through re-examination in a clinic under the supervision of a reproductologist.
Then, the reproductologist, if necessary, synchronizes the menstrual cycles of the donor and the future mother with the help of medication. After the synchronization of menstrual cycles, the donor must undergo treatment to stimulate ovulation, for obtaining not one oocyte, as with natural ovulation, but several.
Hormonal drugs stimulate ovulation, doses and dosage regimens are selected individually. Therefore this process is safe for the donor if following all the requirements and recommendations of the reproductologist. The doctor monitors the growth of follicles, and stimulation, if necessary, he adjusts the stimulation program. The program ends with the injection of the HCG drug (trigger); after 35-36 hours doctor is performing the puncture in the clinic - the procedure of egg extraction from the ovaries. Puncture is performed under anesthesia and takes about 15 minutes.
In the embryological laboratory, the obtained oocytes are fertilized by the germ cells of the partner/spouse of the woman, resulting in the formation of embryos. The best embryo (or two) is transferred into the uterine cavity of the future mother.
After the puncture, the donor remains under the supervision of a doctor who determines when to go home. Almost all donors leave the clinic in a few hours.
